Samah Anwar is one of Egypt's most enduring and versatile screen presences, an actress, director, and producer whose career spans more than four decades of Arabic cinema, television, and theatre. She grew up surrounded by the arts: her father was the acclaimed writer Anwar Abdullah, and her mother the beloved actress Souad Hussein. Art was never a choice for Samah Anwar; it was an inheritance. Before the camera found her, sport did first. Samah Anwar won the Egyptian national swimming championship at El Zamalek Sports Club, an athletic foundation that would later prove indispensable when she became the rare Egyptian actress cast in demanding physical action roles. Sarah Ariyan Sakha is the AI Policy Manager for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkiye at Meta. Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk was appointed as the Minister of Finance of Egypt in July 2024. He served as the Vice Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policies and Institutional Reform starting March 2016 till July 2024. Since then, he has been playing a leading role in planning and implementing Egypt’s macroeconomic and fiscal policies and reforms. He has also been the Chief Negotiator and Government focal point with the IMF since 2016. Performing his duties as the Vice Minister of Finance, he has been supervising and managing the functions of various policy-related units and departments at the Ministry of Finance, including the Macro Fiscal Policies Unit, Debt Management Unit, Public Private Partnership Unit, Transparency and Citizen Engagement Unit, the Public Financial Management Unit, as well as the Institutional Reform Unit. During his 7 years tenure, he has invested in over 70 startups across a broad range of sectors and led corporate partnerships with GINCO, Mubadala, Hub71, MCIT of KSA, Saudi National Bank and Raed Ventures. He serves on the boards of Three Wheels United, an EV mobility company in India, Crestbrick, the leading property marketing company in SE Asia and Klaim.AI a claims management software company in UAE. Prior to Techstars, Vijay was based in Washington D.C. and served as the former Global Chairman ( 2003-04) and CEO (2015-17) of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), where he led the peer network of 18,000+ leading entrepreneurs globally. In his 40+ years as an entrepreneur and corporate CEO he founded and grew several companies spread over 7 different industries in SE Asia. This includes managing a multi-chain Fashion Retail Stores and an export-led Clothing Manufacturing for high end brands, develop and manufactured a leading hi-Tech Safety Helmets producer, pioneered an Association Management Company, a Corporate Learning Events production company, managed a Property Development company in Malaysia and Singapore and founded a Corporate Venture Capital focused in Asian technology companies in the late 1990s. Vijay has served several leadership positions at the YPO, the peer-to-peer network of 35,000 leading CEOs; including Chapter Chair, Regional Director, and as a Global Board member. He is also the founding Chair of the UHNWI peer group TIGER 21 Dubai. He is a Global Advisor to Scholar of Finance organization and a former Trustee at Richmond University (UK). He was the recipient of the ‘Global Entrepreneur Person of the Year’ Award by GOPIO and EO in both 2003. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Richmond University and furthered his executive education at Stanford University.
